Vet walks for Vets
June 12, 2008 - Army National Guardsman Sgt. Tom Lanzoni poses with daughter, Natshumi and Southborough Police Officer Kevin Landry along his walk across the state of Massachusetts to raise awareness for www.Operationtroopsupport.org and www.buildinghomesforheroes.org Sgt. Lanzoni started his walk just outside of Massachusetts in Lebanon, New York. Operation Troop Support is located in Danvers, MA. The group's five missions are sending care packages to deployed troops, supplying miltary hospitals both state side and abroad with much needed comfort items, spearheading an extensive holiday gift wrapping and distribution program to military forces, coordinating a regional military family support group program and generating a public awareness of the sacrifices and needs of the soldiers and their families. The All Wars Restoration begins
June 27, 2007 - Work on the All Wars Memorial has begun. The Southborough DPW pulled out the shrubs and flag pole holders this week. Below, Peter Phaneuf power washes the monument to clear it of lichen, moss and dirt. Work will progress further on the monument when the Town releases the CPA funds July 1 that were voted on at the ATM.
