- Cedar Swamp Pond. Twist and turn through the
narrow stretches of the Sudbury, leading you to the
breathtaking headwaters.

McAdow, who has been a novice birder for thirty years.This
three-session mini-course will teach beginners how to identify
the groups of birds commonly seen in Eastern Massachusetts west
of Boston. In the two evening sessions, participants will
practice identifying birds from slides. On Saturday morning, we
will take our new skills into the field, to try out on real

INVASIVES SPECIES IDENTIFICATION AND
CONTROL, Sudbury

SVT Director of Stewardship
Laura Mattei. Invasive species are the second greatest
threat to biodiversity, just behind habitat destruction from
development. Learn how to identify our top 10 invaders and how
to control them – in your backyard or on conservation land. This
will be a hands-on outdoor workshop. Please wear long sleeves,
long pants and closed shoes.

some great photographs in our 36-town region.
Do you think yours could be
award winning? Bring up to three of your nature
photographs, taken within the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord
River Basin to our headquarters during the dates listed above.
Winning photographs will be selected in three categories
(people, rivers, and wildlife habitat), plus an overall “Best In
Show.” All winning photographs will be displayed throughout
Riverfest in the barn at Wolbach Farm. More details on SVT’s
