August 7, 2007 - This Monday Southborough News passed a milestone with over 5,000 readers checking us out. A big accomplishment in a short time and so it is with great pleasure that I introduce our newest advertiser at Southborough News, Annemarie’s Dance Centre of Ashland, MA. Annemarie’s is located in a large multi-roomed complex that includes studios, dressing rooms, art room, office and lobby at 111 Cherry Street in downtown Ashland. Very easy and accessible to Southborough patrons. Annemarie has danced since she was ten. At an early age she knew right away what she wanted to do for her career and that was to dance and teach others to dance. She loves dancing and is thrilled to see youngsters taking up dance. After high school graduation, Annemarie worked in a variety of dance studios, worked summer stock in New York and studied under worldwide instructors including instruction under E. Virginia Williams before opening her own studio in her home. Annemarie soon had over 500 students taking dance lessons and outgrew her home. For a short time she rented space at the Pittaway school in Ashland. She has been at 111 Cherry Street for over twenty years. This year Annemarie Dance Centre celebrates its 30th year in business. Annemarie Dance Centre offers a wide range of classes. Preschool to seven year olds include Little Ballerinas, Combination Class age 4, Combination Class age 5, Combination Class age 6, Just the Boys ages 4-6 and Get Funky age 7. For the levels 1 aged 8 to advanced aged 16 to adult there is Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern. Adult classes consist of Ballet and tap offered once a week for adults interested in getting their bodies moving. Hip Hop and Modern are available for adults if there is enough interest. The instructors at Annemarie's Dance Centre are graduates in dance, arts and early childhood education from such institutions such as Emerson College, UMASS Amherst, University of Virginia Charottesville, School of Performing Arts, Boston Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Imperial Academy of Dance, Roger Williams University, Rutgers U/Mason Gross School of Arts and Smith College. Many have trained throughout the United States for various dance performance companies. Annemarie Dance Centre will be holding some special events this year. Starting in September will be the annual open house held on September 5th from 9:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The studio will sell ballet, tap and jazz shoes for all ages and have on hand leotards, tights, fitted zippered sweatshirts and dance bags at the open house. Classes will begin on September 8th. The week of October 24th to 31st youngsters aged 3 to 7 may wear costumes during dress up week. In November there will be costume sizing and recital assignments. But it is December that will be a major event for Annemarie herself. During the week of December 17th to the 22nd Annemarie will be celebrating thirty years of dance. Established in 1978 in her home, Annemarie has realized her dream as a youngster and has taught thousands of students how to dance. So come celebrate with Annemarie and take up a class or two of dance. Annemarie believes in the children starting at a young age to learn dance movements. She loves working with the younger children and is especially pleased to see them as they move along to their teen years and adulthood and still have the passion to dance. Please check out Annemarie’s Dance Centre at http://www.annemariesdance.com And if you sign up for a preschool dance program and mention you saw it on the Southborough News Annemarie will waive the registration fee. |
