About myself and the Southborough News

The Southborough News is an online news source for the town of Southborough, Massachusetts. I like to call it the photo journalistic bulletin board heartbeat of Southborough.  The original online source for all news and events Southborough!

A graduate of the Business elective course from Billerica Memorial High School and a graduate with a Forestry and Park Management Degree from Essex Agricultural Institute I became associated with Southborough in 1976 when I met my husband Skip while working at the Hopkinton State Park.  For several years I worked and supervised Walden Pond before transferring as manager of  the Hopkinton State park complex for ten years.  I have taught environmental education in preschool - grade 8 for private and after school programs in Southborough. Our children our fourth generation Southborough and have gone through the Southborough School Systems, sports groups, Kindergroup and Scouts.

I have served on the Southborough Recreation Facilities Committee, Southborough Conservation Commission, Southborough Roads Safety Committee, Chaired the Finn School Fair, Chaired the Neary School Winter Carnival and Mentor program and co-chaired and started the Sudbury River Watershed and Monitoring Protection now the Sudbury River Watershed Organization and co-chaired the Southborough Animal Disaster Preparedness committee and helped write the animal disaster plan for the town of Southborough along with being an assistant 4-H horse club leader for the past eleven years.

The Southborough News is a labor of love. Started by chance nearly two years ago, the Southborough News has come a long way and has been read by people in all fifty states, all cities and towns in MA and at least thirty-five countries around the world!!  It takes a lot of time and effort to put it together but I thoroughly enjoy doing so and love meeting each and every one of you at events around town.  I appreciate the many wonderful comments the Southborough News readers have sent.  The News is basically a one person operation but I have two great photographers in Chris and Carol that contribute awesome photos.  Everyone is welcome to submit a favorite photo or upload an event to the calendar or send it to me for inclusion on the front page.  If you've seen a good movie or read a great book send in a review to be included in the News!

I encourage all to make the Southborough News the best there is.  And don't forget our newest feature the Southborough Forums.

Thank you to all of our readers!! and our advertisers that help bring the Southborough News alive.
